TEMPLE TUESDAYS...

I remember when the Sacramento Temple opened in 2006. We were so excited to have a temple just 5-10 minutes from our home and not have to drive 90 minutes to Oakland. We were convinced that we would attend often and never take the temple for granted. Time passes and we realize that we have become too casual about our attendance (Ed still continues to work in the Temple on Thursday mornings).



We know that we are greatly blessed and want to be an instrument in providing the blessing of the gospel to our ancestors. We can express our gratitude to our Heavenly Father by regular temple attendance. Each Tuesday, I leave work one hour early, Ed picks me up at the Hazel Avenue light rail at 4:30 pm. The temple is just five minutes away and we attend the 5:00 pm session. Judy goes with us and other friends when they are available. Today was our fourth Tuesday in a row. We plan on making Tuesday our temple days. We know that our lives and the lives of those we love most will be blessed and for that we are very grateful.

Striped Sunday

We all got dressed for Church without checking with each other. Britt dressed Kiyoko, Sariah picked out her outfit, and I put on what would fit. It turns out that it was a day for STRIPES! I think we looked pretty cute together.

Guess Who's Driving!

After just a little instruction from his dad about shifting gears, Brennan decided he was ready to ride the small dirt bike all by himself! Brennan said it was 'EASY' and he wants to do it again next Saturday.

A Visit from the Tooth Fairy!

Brennan lost another tooth eating a DELICIOUS piece of pizza tonight! It really surprised all of us because it didn't look ready to come out. He is hoping to be a wealthy man after the Tooth Fairy comes tonight!

Brothers - You just can't leave them alone for a minute!

"Little Murphy" - age 'puppy' - barely 70 lbs.

"Big Brother Britt" - age 34.4 - at least 145 lbs.

We left Britt and Murphy alone for only 30 minutes! Britt was rough housing on his bed with Murphy...he 'pinned' him down and when Murphy decided to show Britt who was boss - 'IT' happened. There was quite a bit of blood so Britt took pictures of his wound, the bloody sheets, and then emailed the pictures to everyone in the family claiming he was the victim of dog abuse. We had fun emailing our comments among the members of the family and pointing blame. So last night before Britt got home from work, I used red food coloring on some bandages and bribed Murphy to hold still long enough to get these pictures!

Anyone got a light?

The Dog Has Issues!

This dog is weird! When we leave home we put Murphy in his crate. To help him pass the time, we include his toys and some treats then turn on the radio so he can listen to his favorite program. When we return home and let him out, he gathers up all the toys he can hold in his mouth(you can see 3)and prances around the house until we notice that he has them all. Plus, instead of eating his treats...he saves them until he is released from custody and then consumes them. The dog definitely has issues!

Good Citizen Award!

On Monday, March 16th, Brennan received the "Good Citizen Award" from Twin Lake Elementary. We are so proud of him!

SPOTLIGHT SUNDAY

Today Ed and I were invited to come to Primary and share with the children why Brennan is so special and why we want him to be part of our eternal family. We were grateful to be there and tell everyone why he is such a great little kid. We shared how we felt on the day he was born. He was our first grandchild and it was such a miracle to see him come into this world and our family. We told the children how Brennan loves to play soccer and that he is a very good student. Tomorrow he will be given the "Good Citizenshop" award in an assembly at school. Brennan is a caring and loving big brother. He looks out for Sariah and Kiyoko and makes sure they have what they need. If they are unhappy then so is Brennan.
But most important, we told the children what a sweet little guy he is. We have been taking him to church since he was just a few months old and he has never once said that he didn't want to go to church. He is reverent, obedient, and always remembers to bring his scriptures. I think Brennan was a little embarrassed - but happy to be the SPOTLIGHT OF THE MONTH!

Saturday Cruizing!

The best part of this Saturday afternoon for Kiyoko, Sariah, and Brennan was riding with their dad on the little dirt bike. I tried NOT to look. The video quality is poor - but you get the idea!

Life in the FAST LANE

This is how you live after you've eaten, pooped, and, terrorized your owner all morning!

Out of the Wilderness!

Mom called this morning to let me know that the house that David is building for them to move into will be ready sooner than they thought. Today the tile is being laid in the masterbath and the doors are being hung. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets will be in soon and then the carpet will be the last and final touch. Last year Mom and Bob made the decision to leave 'The Group' in Pinesdale where they have been living for 36 years and come back to the Church. They discovered that it was much easier to get out of the Church that it is to get back in. The most significant change for them was to leave 'The Ranch'. Both the Bishop and Stake President stated that they must get off the property in Pinesdale before they could move forward with their membership in the Church.

By April 2009 they should be in their new home just a few miles away from David, Heather, and the ward building. Their new address will be in Victor, Montana. We are all excited to see them getting their lives in order and ready to be baptized and prepared to go to the temple. It will be a great day when Ed has the opportunity to baptize Mom and Bob!

JUST BECAUSE...

Monday was my first day at work with the new daylight savings time. It was so hard to get up and the day seemed to go on forever. Imagine my surprise when I got home and found these beautiful roses waiting for me! Ed has always been a very thoughtful guy. I really got LUCKY when we said our 'I Do's'.

THE GREAT RACE!

Each night we tuck Murphy into his crate so that Ed and I can get a good nights rest. Around 3:30-4:00 am I can hear Murphy's little cries - does he need to go potty? I get up and let him out in the backyard. He watches me as he goes out the door to make sure that I am standing nearby and waiting for him. (I guess he doesn't want to be left out there in the dark.) When he has completed his business he scratches at the door. This is the moment of the GREAT RACE!


When I open the door, he races past me and up the stairs. He jumps up on our bed - usually scaring Ed out of a sound sleep - curls up in a ball and pretends that he is asleep. (The little faker!) He wants to make sure that I don't put him back in his bed for the remainder of the night!
