Hanging Quilt

When I left the Court Reporters office for my new assignment, one of my employee's gave me a quilt that she had made (they were hanging all around her office walls). I had always wanted one and the day I left she gave me this one! It was a wonderful gift and I was thrilled. We just needed to find a place in our home that would show it off.

Ed and I debated on where to hang it in the house. I thought it might be too busy for the dining room wall because of the area rug. But we think it looks great. You can see it when you come in the front door and thru the kitchen door. It is a treasured gift and I will always remember Michelle when I look at her quilt.

Many hands make light work....

This Saturday morning was family work time. Everyone pitched in and worked hard so that could all enjoy the afternoon. We were so thankful to have Brennan, Sariah, and Kiyoko here to help. I don't know how we would have gotten all our work done without them! Sariah cleaned and organized her cupboard where she keeps her clothes and some of her toys.

Then she organized all the toys in the downstairs family room.

She did a beautiful job!

All of the children helped Grandpa clean the pool filters while Britt put

chlorine in the pool and brushed the sides.

We were all done by 11am and then it was time to go to the movies.

New Job Assignment...

Today, I begin my new job as a supervisor at the Carol Miller Justice Center, aka 'Traffic Court'. I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive - and the learning curve seems pretty steep, but I have a good attitude and will just make the best of the opportunity that has been given me.

Maybe next time...

Well, Pat's bike never got fixed so Ed didn't get an opportunity to ride and be instructed by the expert - Patrick. I know that Ed and Pat were looking forward to it but there will be many more times. Patrick's neighbor and friend, Adam, will be home from his Hawaiian vacation this week and with his help I am sure the bike will be running in no time.
This coming weekend Ed will be taking his Motorcycle Safety Class and then he will be getting his license. It has been a fun time for him and it is nice to have a new adventure to look forward to. I know that Ed will be a safe driver - just hope all the others on the road will be as cautious and considerate as he will be.

Friday Date Night

After an hour discussion as to what we should do...it was decided to go the driving range at "The Ranch" in Eagle Mountain. The range stopped selling buckets of balls at 8pm...we barely made it since no one knew where the clubhouse was!

If you are wondering why there are no pictures of Linda...I am the resident photographer...I also don't golf very well...and I wasn't cute this evening! After the range we all went to a new frozen yogurt shop for a little refreshment. It was a great evening!

The Saga Continues...

Tonight's project was to clean and install the carburetor and get the motor running....

New Career as Motorcycle Mechanics?

Several weeks ago Patrick bought a 1980 Suzuki GS1100LT to fix up and sell (hopefully for a profit). Ed was excited at the propect of riding Pat's new toy and perhaps getting some pointers before his Motorcycle Safety Course the end of the month. Unfortunately, the bike had an oil leak and needed a little work...Pat had it in a few big pieces when we arrived and by Saturday evening it was in lots of smaller pieces!

Things were looking up on Monday evening and it looks like it might be completed tomorrow night!

When we decided to come to Utah for a mini vacation Ed got so excited that he even ordered his motorcycle helmet and had it shipped directlyto Pat and Shyla's house. It was waiting for him when we got to Lehi and now he is really ready to fly!
